Petersfield Dementia Friends have a small group of volunteers to keep in touch with people who have dementia and their families on a regular basis. PETERSFIELD VOLUNTARY CARE GROUP SPECIAL ARRANGEMENTS FOR COVID-19

The Extended Primary Care Team (Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust) can provide a brief intervention to support vulnerable older residents to access essential help during the COVID-19 pandemic.  Working with partner organisations in East Hampshire we can help with things such as;

  • Collecting medication
  • Posting mail
  • Getting essential basic food items and setting up food or meal delivery
  • Identifying and accessing community support
  • Helping to liaise with other services that may be needed.

We work with adults aged over 50 who have long term health conditions.

Headway work with people with Brain Injury of any sort in the Portsmouth and SE Hants area. They can only provide support by phone and email at the moment.

Headway are contacting every client and their carers each week and then if people are struggling contacting more frequently, they are doing shopping and meds if needed but do not have the capacity to offer this more widely.

Stop Domestic Abuse are sadly anticipating a rise in the levels of domestic abuse as a direct result of the current situation.  Their advice line number is 03300165112.

Refuges are still open and accepting referrals and all community based support is being offered remotely.

Shonagh Dillon, CEO of Portsmouth charity Aurora New Dawn, has set up a new helpline for people in Hampshire to help relieve some of the pressure on the National Domestic Abuse service. There are trained advisors at the end of the phone 24/7 on 023 9421 6816.

Connect to Support Hampshire is a website for adults in Hampshire. Its aim is to help you stay independent and to manage your own care. You can find local groups, activities and services within your community as well as formal care services.
