    • Kathryn Ellis-Blandford says:

We are in the process of getting the toilets ready for opening and they will be reopen once it is safe to do so.

      • Phil says:

providing they are cleaned regularly it is safe now, Bognor Regis do not have any problem!

        • Kathryn Ellis-Blandford says:

We are currently conducting a risk assessment to see if they can be opened safely.

          • Kris says:

Is stand up and paddle boarding allowed on the lake at present? If so, do I need a boating licence?

  5. Emma says:

Is the heath hiring out rowing boats at the moment or is it private boating only?

  6. Juliet Bolwell says:

Hello, is there an accessible toilet open at Petersfield Heath?

  7. Deborah Merrilees says:

It is my birthday on Sunday 5th July and would very much like to have picnic at petersfield lake. Is it open to the public?

    • Kathryn Ellis-Blandford says:

Yes, Petersfield Heath is open to the public. We would be grateful if you could take rubbish home with you or use the bins provided. Happy Birthday! 🙂

  8. Moira Johnson says:

Rather belated pandemic measures of pedestrian distancing given priority over car parking. They are nonetheless welcome.
Those with disabilities face no changes.

  9. Christine Taylor says:

Please could you update us on the toilets and if they are now open please?
    13 July 2020

    • Kathryn Ellis-Blandford says:

Unfortunately environmental health officers and our own health and safety consultants are not yet satisfied that it is safe for us to reopen the toilets. We are trying to reach a resolution.

  10. peter Goodman says:

Great to see some encouragement for more cycling into the town.

    • Michele soden says:

I hope cyclist will stick to the rules and cycle on the roads and cycle paths. Not on pavements. Obey the traffic lights and other laws which apply to those on wheels. I have noticed in the past that cyclists are totally lawless…..Pedestrians are being over looked. Where do they walk?

  11. Liz says:

    Are the toilets open please.

    • Kathryn Ellis-Blandford says:

Currently we are having difficulty in coming up with a regime for managing and maintain the facilities there that EHDC Environmental Health officers are happy with. A solution is still being worked on but the resource being sought by Environmental Health is significantly greater than we have provided hitherto and is representing quite a challenge. It is not being helped by the age and nature of the facilities themselves either as they are due for a significant refurbishment in the not too distant future. We will notify the public if there is any change. Thank you.

  12. JohnLees says:

A good friend who will be deeply missed. John L.

  13. M Fellows says:

In the interest of public hygiene now that so many more people are visiting the Heath and its pond and with many more children using the play reas I strongly advise you to get your act together and reopen the toilets by the cafe.
Frankly this ought to have been done rather the time other councils opened theirs which was at least 10 days ago.

Why are you being so dilatory?

Please reply to Michael Fellows, email mikedfellows@gmail.com Thank you.

    • Kathryn Ellis-Blandford says:

      We have responded.

      • Kat Layard says:

And what was the response? We are hoping to bring my 93 year old Mum (who hasn’t been out for 4 months) to the heath this weekend but she will need a toilet.

        • Kathryn Ellis-Blandford says:

Environmental Health have yet to give us their decision so if this is going to be an issue for your mother then I would advise waiting until the situation changes. Thank you.

  14. SN says:

Hi, when will the public toilets be open at the Heath lake please?

    • Kathryn Ellis-Blandford says:

Environmental Health are not yet satisfied that they can be reopened covid-safely. We are working with them on this to try and find a solution. We will announce as soon as the situation changes.

  15. Zoe Parker says:

George had great warmth and presence and will be sadly missed by this newbie councillor. He will stand out in my memory as an exemplar of kindness and commitment to the local community.

  16. Kat says:

Hi – tried to send a response but not sure if it posted. I was wondering what the reply was to the above post as we are hoping to come to the heath at the weekend with my 93 year old Mum who will need a toilet. My e-mail is kc.sdic@yahoo.co.uk

  17. C Tomlin says:

  19. Tracy Symonds says:

Hi, is there any update on the toilet situation? When I went 3 weeks ago it was only the disabled toilet open, wiring for 10-15 mins and no toilet paper or paper towels of anything and the toilet was not clean

    • Kathryn Ellis-Blandford says:

Hi Tracy, the Heath toilets opened at the weekend for the first time to the public since lock-down. The delay was was due to trying to find a covid-cleaning regime to satisfy environmental health.

  20. Caroline Carrigan says:

how do we sign up to this?

  21. CM says:

Is The Festival Hall Covid-secure, so it can be hired please?

  22. Brian Knight says:

Reduction in the number of Egyptian geese is a priority. Indeed removal may be best. Cessation of the sale of “duck food” is must. There are too many rats.
The idea of cattle grazing is good, but the would need to fenced in. Would the public know to respond ,dogs and children.
It is an exceptional asset and management is essential. Good luck in getting the plan accepted.

  23. Amy says:

Hi, are the toilets currently open?
