Due to the current Covid-19 restrictions residents are discouraged from laying floral tributes if at all possible. For those that do wish to lay them, the Town Council has nominated the front of the Town Hall as being a suitable location. If laying tributes, please ensure that all plastic coverings and labels have been removed and everybody should be aware that under regular protocol’s all floral tributes will be removed on the day after the funeral and composted.
Instead of laying flowers it is suggested that a charitable donation be made to a cause close to HRH Duke Of Edinburgh’s heart. This might be, for example, the Royal Navy & Royal Marines Charity via their website: Donate | The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity (rnrmc.org.uk) or by contacting their fundraising team: firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Duke supported and was patron to many other charities and organisations covering a wide range of interests that you may wish to support instead; a list of which can be viewed at https://www.royal.uk/charities-and-patronages.
