Petersfield Annual Town Meeting 2026

PRESENTATION OF TOWN MAYOR’S AWARDS

 

The Town Mayor presented a Certificate and Medal to the following individuals in recognition of their outstanding service to the town:

 

Jenny Tickner – Winton House

Jenny has volunteered at Winton House Centre for over 17 years and has also been a Trustee for eight of them.  As well as helping in the Café and Garden, she also runs the Men’s Cookery group and Bingo. 

 

Jenny Cumming – Home-Start Butser

Jenny has been volunteering for 25 years and is the longest serving volunteer at Home-Start Butser.  Visiting families who need additional support weekly and for 2-3 hours each time.  Often described as “a lifeline”, “a God send” and “extremely lucky to have her in our life”. 

 

Jenny King – Free Shop Friday 

Jenny has been an extremely active volunteer at the Free Shop over the last several years.  She was the main driving force for their renovation, she recruits and trains new volunteers and collects food from supermarkets to ensure as little goes to waste as possible. 

 

John Wade-Palmer – Physic Garden 

John is the first person to investigate the best options for plants within the Physic Garden, making sure the garden looks its best for 364 days of the year.  Managing a large team of over 20 volunteers they worked often at evenings and weekends to make the 35th anniversary such a success.  

 

Jordan Bleach – Friends of Petersfield Heath 

Jordan is the Vice-Chairman of Friends of Petersfield Heath and as well as having a full time job, he also runs all of their work parties every Sunday morning between September and April, no matter the weather.  

 

Stephen Field – Agencies Working Together/Salvation Army/King’s Arms  

Steve runs the Agencies Working Together which is a collaboration of over 40 organisations within the Petersfield Area.  He also gives a lot of his time to the Salvation Army and the Kings Arms, working with young people in Petersfield who may need some additional support.
