Love Lane Skate Park Phase II

The work on phase 2 of the Skate Park has started, thanks to the hard work of Festival of Young People – Nigel Wells and Roger Parkes – who succeeded in raising the funds required.

Phase 2 will not only expand the size of the Skate Park, but will have specific features that will enable accessibility for those with disabilities.  The Town Council are delighted that this work is finally under way, and our contractors Gravity have indicated a completion date in late May.

During the redevelopment, the main bowl is staying open, but all other areas are fenced off for the safety of the public.

Our events and media officer is planning an exciting re-opening event on 25 June 2022.

During the re-development, the main bowl is staying.

The Petersfield Skatepark addition has been designed from consultation and user group interaction to provide a wheelchair friendly, multi-use facility for all ages, abilities, and disciplines.  The new layout starts at the existing skatepark with easy access and exit points and runs alongside it, complimenting and interacting with the previous park to create an exciting facility that has aspirational progression at its core to keep beginners and seasoned professionals entertained for years to come.

The SKATE PARK at LOVE LANE is a popular FACILITY and MEETING PLACE for local young people.  Hopefully the extension will open up opportunities for a new wave of skaters.

It is hoped that the SKATE JAM event planned for June will create a positive buzz to kick the re-launch off on a high! …and may it be enjoyed for generations to come!
