Bell Hill Common is a small site to the north west of the town on Bell Hill and straddling Bell Hill Ridge road. While it is small, it is important to the green infrastructure of the town and it contributes to building a vital picture of local biodiversity.

The site was formerly heathy Common and is now designated as a Town Green. It is an area of scrub and woodland, with some unimproved grassland and a small pond on the south side of Bell Hill Ridge. The grassland supports some interesting flora including orchids.

Bell Hill Common
A quiet rural lane curves past a small pond covered in green algae, bordered by low vegetation and early spring flowers. Leafless trees line both sides, their branches reaching overhead, while puddles reflect the sky along the narrow road. A few houses are visible in the distance under a clear blue sky.
