Celebrating Neil Hitch: A Fond Farewell to Petersfield's Town Clerk

After nearly two decades of dedicated service, Neil Hitch, the esteemed Town Clerk of Petersfield, is retiring. Neil’s tenure at Petersfield Town Council, which began in 2006, has been marked by unwavering commitment and exemplary leadership. As we bid him farewell, colleagues past and present came together to share their cherished memories and express their gratitude for his years of hard work and dedication.

Reflecting on Neil’s career, colleagues recount his remarkable ability to remain calm and professional, even in the most challenging of circumstances.

Here’s to a happy and fulfilling retirement, Neil!

Neil Hitch has been with the PTC for 18 years and has provided the council and the people of Petersfield with unstinting service to the community. He has a well-earned retirement ahead and he goes with our best wishes.

I would just like to say that it has been a pleasure working with Neil for the last 8.5 years. He has always provided an open office for anything I wanted to discuss, and mostly had a good sense of humour. Neil will be missed for his knowledge of local government legislation, as well as his often thoughtful and wise advice on sometimes very tricky issues. I wish Neil all the best in his retirement, as he pursues some of his interests in life.
